Logistics & Inventory Specialist Position Overview:Streamline and develop the logistics network to accommodate growth in domestic and international markets. Strategically manage the transportation and warehousing vendors to maximize output and develop synergies to ensure that all needs are met.Logistics & Inventory Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage and follow through on carrier claims to ensure that all claims are resolved, and feedback is communication to all parties involved.
- Conduct RFQ process and award business based on overall value.
- Use best judgment to select modes of transportation for international delivery that meet customers' requirements.
- Manage overall Company’s logistics and transportation spend.
- Act as project manager for initiatives aimed at optimizing inventory, reducing cost and lead times, and eliminate non-value-added activities as needed.
- Create and manage routing guides for all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure compliance and that spending is reduced by optimizing transportation mode.
- Manage transportation execution in the company’s TMS.
- Work closely with international sales team and international distributors to procure the best transportation services and ensure that service is delivered as promised.
- Create shipping documents necessary for import/export of company’s raw materials and finished goods.
- Provide analysis and recommendation for inventory levels to ensure that adequate levels of inventory are held.
- Work closely with warehouse third party logistics provider to ensure that inventory is managed properly and accurately.
- Ensure that inventory reports and adjustments are completed monthly prior to accounting end-of-month close.
- Achieve skillful implementation of duties while participating in the different elements of the company culture.
Logistics & Inventory Specialist Position Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3 plus years of experience with Fulfillment & Inventory Management.
- Current understanding of the transportation industry is a must.
- Negotiation experience is a must.
- Understanding of import and export procedures
- Knowledge and experience in effectively managing inventory in a very dynamic organization.
- Ability to effectively communicate among departments and external partners.
- Project management experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a very fast paced environment.
- Must be able to think creatively to resolve problems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
