Medical Policy Manager manages and implements corporate policy and process for medical provider and other reimbursements. Ensures that all claims are reviewed, settled, and processed in compliance with and according to contract provisions and regulatory requirements. Being a Medical Policy Manager evaluates and develops policies and provider reimbursement guidelines to effectively manage and control medical claims cost. Requires a bachelor's degree of finance, business or healthcare administration. Additionally, Medical Policy Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Medical Policy Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must! Previous experience with home medical equipment preferred but not required.
Responsible for the delivery and setup of required medical equipment in patient's residence. Educate patients in proper use and care of respiratory and Home Medical Equipment in a home setting. Maintain home oxygen systems through regularly scheduled visits to patient's residence. Complete written patient visit reports following setup and follow-up visits as required. Assist in resolving patient equipment problems under emergency conditions. Process all orders in a timely and accurate manner. Perform routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with company policies. Assume on-call responsibilities during non business hours according to the company policy.
