Medical Records Research Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the record keeping activities pertaining to releasing and retrieving medical records for research projects. Ensures all medical records are tracked and released according to HIPAA guidelines. Being a Medical Records Research Coordinator may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Research Coordinator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred. Two years work experience in medical records preferred including exposure to coding, medical transcription, quantitative record analysis and data retrieval for quality assurance. Detail oriented with strong organizational skills, medical terminology and excellent computer skills.
