Staff Accountant - United Medical Rehabilitation Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our financial team. We are looking for an experienced Accountant who is eager to learn and grow with the company. You will work directly with the financial team as we provide data and insights to drive the business forward.

Location: Hammond LA 70401

Staff Accountant Summary: Responsible for retrieving and preparing financial information. Focusing on general ledger, accruals, payroll, fixed assets, account analysis, bank reconciliation and monthly financial reporting.

Accountant Responsibilities: • Prepare monthly consolidated and individual company financial statements on a monthly basis and provide to CFO

• Analyzes data, prepares and inputs journal entries
• Performs financial analysis of operations.
• Prepares all monthly account and bank reconciliations
• Complete quarterly payroll reports
• Maintain THRIVE Accounting system
• Assist Human Resources in the compliance and financial reporting requirements of the health & welfare, compensation, and retirement programs; help prepare government filings
• Responsible for compliance and financial reporting requirements of the health & welfare, compensation, and retirement programs; help prepare government filings
• Assist CFO in preparation of various regulatory reporting requirements including audit, tax, cost reporting and surveys.
• Other projects/duties as assigned

Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting • 1 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a hospital / healthcare environment

• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a team player is a must
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
