The Credentialing Specialist assists with the preparation and distribution of initial applications for medical staff and allied health, assists with importing the electronic application into the credentialing database and assists in performing primary source verification. Responsible for follow-up as a result of the Professional Affairs and Quality Committee of the Board (PAQC) which includes but not limited to approval packets, notification to SMH departments, database and directory updates. Tracks annual dues for medical staff and allied health practitioners and assists with duties associated with the medical staff fund. Perform other duties as requested by Medical Staff Manager.

Enters potential applications into database and distributes electronic application
Imports application information into data base and maintains integrity of the data
Conduct primary source verification and regularly follows up on request
Conduct some monthly PAQC follow-up (database, approval packets, Directories)
Communicates to clinic department floors any changes and physicians’ status
Assist with a new physician mentoring program
Prepares and tracks application feeds and annual medical staff dues
Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:
High School Degree or Equivalent required
Up to 1 Year of Position-Related Experience preferred
