We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The Service Writer is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately diagnosing and estimating vehicle repairs. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and a passion for delivering top-notch sales and service experiences.
Duties:
- Greet customers promptly and engage in friendly, professional conversations to understand their vehicle needs and concerns.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs, including oil changes and other maintenance tasks.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair to diagnose and estimate repairs accurately.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of repair options to customers, including the benefits of specific services.
- Develop and present detailed estimates to customers, highlighting any additional services that may be necessary.
- Use sales skills to upsell and promote additional services and products to customers.
- Ensure all estimates are complete, accurate, and meet company standards.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest vehicle technologies, including air brake systems, to provide the best possible service to customers.
- Collaborate with mechanics and other team members to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
- Meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to the success of the service department.
- Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase customer satisfaction, sales, and profitability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a service writer or related role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, including experience with auto body repair and oil changes.
- Excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physical environment.
- Ability to pass a background check and provide proof of insurance.
