Meeting/Event Manager jobs in Delaware City, DE

Meeting/Event Manager manages and oversees the planning of live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the strategy and tactics to achieve the event objectives. Being a Meeting/Event Manager directs research of event venues. Develops a vendor network and negotiates contracts for catering and other event support services. Additionally, Meeting/Event Manager manages pre-event activities and post-event evaluations. Monitors and controls event budgets and prepares periodic management reports. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Meeting/Event Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Meeting/Event Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     • Provide strategic communications counsel, integrated planning, and execution in support of senior leaders and our strategic priorities.
    • Develop effective internal communication campaigns that align with business strategies and initiatives, particularly as it relates to our Sustainability and Health Equity agenda.
    • Work with functional/cross-functional teams to develop and support comprehensive, integrated communication plans and campaigns that drive employee engagement around our values and priorities.
    • Oversee the strategic positioning and ongoing momentum of Power of US, our US enterprise-wide employee giving and volunteer platform

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or related field
    • 5 years of experience in public relations and/or in a corporate communications function or public relations agency
    • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
    • Experience utilizing content management systems and handling public relations agencies and other vendors

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with marketing and/or commercial communications
    • Corporate and internal communications experience
    • Experience in a leadership support role
