Member Certification Specialist coordinates the certification and credentialing programs of a professional or membership organization. Participates in the development of standards and the creation of testing materials. Being a Member Certification Specialist maintains and monitors a test scheduling system or database. Organizes resources to implement testing schedules and sessions, including locations, testers, technology, and materials. Additionally, Member Certification Specialist assists members with information about programs and resolves any issues with the process. Interfaces with and monitors outside testing providers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Member Certification Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     DESCRIPTION: East Texas Baptist University invites applications for a full-time position as our Graduation/VA Certification Officer. The position begins when filled. The Graduation/VA Certification Officer is responsible for monitoring students’ progress towards graduation, and helping to plan and facilitate the commencement ceremonies, among other things.
    QUALIFICATIONS: ETBU seeks Christian leaders who are committed to the integration of faith in learning and will invest in the university, local church, and regional community.
    This position requires:
    • Experience in registration related fields, with a superior knowledge of the University catalog
    • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, University policies and procedures, and University degree requirements
    • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
    • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel, including formulas
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail, organizational, decision-making, research, and problem-solving skills
    • The ability to audit and monitor graduation qualifications for each prospective graduate to determine eligibility status. Work with students and their advisors to get them cleared for graduation, and keep them up to date on any graduation related information
    • Assists with the commencement ceremonies for all students – which occasionally requires work outside of standard office hours
    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required
