  • Wyoming County is currently looking to hire a Secretary to the County Administrator. The work involves responsibility for performing confidential, complex administrative functions for the County Administrator on a daily basis. The incumbent performs a variety of tasks in support of the County Administrator’s executive function including preparing of materials for legislative and management matters. The work is carried out in accordance with procedures set forth by the County and as directed by the County Administrator. Responsibilities involve acting as a liaison between the County Administrator, the Board of Supervisors, Department Heads and the general public. Incumbent works closely with appropriate staff to coordinate the necessary reports requested of and needed by the County Administrator.

    TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

    • Provides Administrative support to the County Administrator including correspondence, report preparation and organizational communications;
    • Facilitates and coordinates meetings, gatherings and other events at the request of the County Administrator;
    • Assists County Administrator with budget development by preparing County Budget documents;
    • Prepares Legislative resolutions and contracts as needed;
    • Performs research as requested;
    • Manages County Administrator’s calendar, determines access to Administrator’s office, provides logistical support;
    • Oversees grant administration for County Administrator;
    • Files and maintains, reviews records and coordinates retention;
    • Order Office equipment and supplies, as needed;
    • Prepares, types, and disseminates reports, documents, and correspondence;
    • Prepare information for distribution, i.e., press releases, etc.;
    • Coordinates the submission and review of budgets and other financial reports;
    • Provides assistance to legislators, County departments and the public as needed;
    • May take and prepare agendas and minutes and distribute copies to appropriate parties;
    • May assist the County Administrator in the preparation of confidential documents by typing, copying and distributing the documents;
    • · Provides input and feedback on matters of policy development and implementation;
    • · Oversees and maintains all records in a confidential and secure manner;
    • · Performs duties necessary for the effective execution of duties of this department as requested.
    • · Supervises professional, technical and/or clerical staff engaged in the accomplishment of the work of the County Administrator’s office;
    • May represent County Administrator’s Office at various meetings as assigned;
    • Initiates and implements special programs and/or projects as directed by the County Administrator;
    • Reads, classifies, refers or answers memos, reports and correspondence;
    • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    (A) Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent, progressively responsible clerical experience; OR

    (B) Possession of an Associate’s degree and five (5) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent, progressively responsible clerical experience; OR

    (C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and seven (7) years of full-time paid experience, or its part-time equivalent, progressively responsible clerical experience.

    NOTES:

    Preference will be given to candidates with residency within The County of Wyoming.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
