Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Turnaround Procurement, with dotted line reporting to the Lima Site Procurement Manager and Turnaround Event Manager, the primary purpose of the Advisor/Buyer position is to provide procurement support for the 2026 Turnaround Event at the Lima site. The successful candidate will execute purchasing and commercial strategic planning in alignment with key business objectives for the turnaround event by working with site-based teams to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of services and materials.
This position will be located at the Lima Nitrogen operations site in Lima, Ohio. The event is currently scheduled to execute in September 2026. The base contract is term is to end of year 2026, however, can be extended beyond to provide support to other site events.
What you will do:
Proactively support the development procurement strategies for the Turnaround event.
Leverage your strong problem solving and analytical skills to develop and lead implementation of practical sourcing and stakeholder engagement strategies which consider Capital program demand forecasts, work scope requirements, opportunities, and risks, as well as supplier and industry dynamics and other business drivers.
Execute procurement best practice for sourcing and purchasing activities, Develop project or scope specific contracting and procurement strategies and contract execution plans in support of Project Management stage gate review processes.
Facilitate and support end users’ needs for sourcing goods and services, including providing appropriate and timely input to planning of Turnaround event needs; assisting in RFx processes including participating in the development of scopes of work and evaluation criteria, support the development of quality commercial compensation structures for the scopes of work, support the evaluation of bids, negotiation preparation and execution, completing and implementing contracts including contract close-out activities.
Manage the day-to-day contract related requests such as supporting contractor on-boarding and kick-off requirements, change management activities, and claims management.
What you will bring:
5 years relevant experience in strategic sourcing, Supply Chain Management, and exposure to an industrial operating facility
Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement (SCMP/CPSM) would be considered an asset
Targeted experience in supply chain management including competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations for Turnaround events will be considered a strong asset, but not required.
Experience with contract management/administration including invoice validation, contract interpretation, and claims management will be considered an asset.
