Merchandise Buyer, Sr. jobs in New London, CT

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchasing of raw material, parts, service, and supplies
• Review proposals, select and recommend suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery terms.
• Understand and consider different levels of complexity in quote packages and evaluate proposals accordingly
• Communicate with suppliers, to assure products are delivered at the requested time.
• Monitor the production schedule to ensure product is procured on time.
• Report on supplier backlog and delivery performance
• Manage inventory levels to ensure staying within budgeted levels
• Maintain database, and perform data entry related to purchasing

Qualifications:

• Minimum High School diploma
• At least 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent understanding of inventory management, production scheduling, and purchasing.
• Ability to function well in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
• Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have experience with and be proficient in ERP systems, SAP preferred.
