Merchant Chargeback Manager manages and oversees the daily operations of a group of fraud analysts/investigators and/or chargeback analysts, either directly or through subordinate supervisors. Develops and implements fraud/chargeback policies and procedures in order to achieve an overall acceptable fraud rate on CNP transactions. Being a Merchant Chargeback Manager manages analysis of transactional records and databases to determine fraud trends and assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies. Possesses expert understanding of fraud related data, model schematics, systems and tools. Additionally, Merchant Chargeback Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a Director. The Merchant Chargeback Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Valant is looking for an experienced Merchant Services Program Manager to help us improve and expand our Merchant Services program.


    What We?re Looking For:

    What You?ll Do:

    • Take ownership. As primary owner of our Merchant Services program, you?ll have an opportunity to create new processes, improve existing processes, and drive growth through your own initiative.
    • Become an expert. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive market and how Valant?s credit card processing services offerings compare. Master the details of Valant?s integrated credit card processing software and convince customers of its value.
    • Work across the customer-facing, marketing, and finance departments to develop processes that support efficient recruitment and onboarding of Valant customers to our merchant services. Partner with cross-functional teams to create resources like help articles, video content, marketing materials, etc. to keep prospective and existing customers informed of offerings.
    • Work with our product team to help improve our credit card processing software to drive more value for our customers. Identify any product risks or needed enhancements and work with the product team to prepare for long-term maintenance and growth of credit card revenue.
    • Work with our merchant services partners to understand the underwriting process and to continuously help improve and harmonize our software and service integration. Establish a strong vendor partnership with recurring meetings, ensuring that Valant is well supported and agreement/cost structure has been optimized. Leverage relationship to participate in revenue-driving initiatives, adopt new features, and drive price increases across customer base.
    • Analyze merchant services receipts, negotiate pricing, sign up and onboard Valant customers to our Merchant Services program.
    • Provide 2nd tier support for Valant customers with questions or problems with our merchant services.
    • Provide reporting to the finance department and assist them with financial information flow and billing functions.
    • Track and report Merchant Services program?s KPIs.

    What You?ll Need:

    • At least 3 years? experience with merchant onboarding to a merchant services program in which you negotiated pricing and signed up merchants.
    • Understanding of merchant services pricing models.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams across an organization.
    • Ability to work well with customers.
    • Passion for working directly with small business owners.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong Microsoft excel, word and other computer skills.
    • A positive, proactive mindset combined with excellent prioritization skills.

    Preferred

    • Experience with Elavon Merchant Services and Payment Processing
