Now Hiring Full-time Director of Food Service!

Job Summary: The Director of Food Service plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Dietary Department to provide food services as prescribed by professional standards.  

Qualifications of Director of Food Service:

• Completion of the Dietary Managers Course
• Associate Degree in Food and Nutrition
• Comparable experience of greater than 3 years in nutritional care and departmental administration.

Responsibilities of Director of Food Service:

• Planning departmental policy and procedure making, menu and production planning, equipment arrangement, the establishment of standards to be maintained in the Dietary Department following the rules and laws of Diet Therapy, sanitation, and safety and procedures.
• Determine the number of residents to be served in order to determine the quantities of food needed to purchase.  
• Delegating the assignment of responsibilities and authority to each staff member through the schedule and job description.
• Ensure all employees of the Dietary Department will have an ongoing in-service education program using the Policy and Procedure Manual and ongoing on-the-job training of all the dietary employees.  
• Recording food and non-food supply cost, labor cost, and meal served per day to determine the food cost per patient per day.
• Develops and implements work standards, sanitation procedures, and personal hygiene requirements consistent with this facility's Policy and Procedure Manual. 
• Prepare and submit Monthly Report to Administrator.
• Ordering of food and equipment.                               
• Keeping a current physical inventory of all food and non-food items of the Dietary Department.
• Plans and attends meetings with other departments, plans and attends meetings of the dietary department.
