Description

Under the general supervision of the Director of Research Chemistry the Laboratory Specialist –

Moisture Meters is responsible for day-to-day Moisture Meter operations – customer relations,

meter manufacturing and meter repair.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Maintain customer satisfaction and appropriate confidentiality.
• Coordinate with the accounting department to issue quotes/invoices.
• Pack and ship new and repaired units.
• Report all significant safety and worker relation problems directly to the supervisor/manager.
• Reports to direct supervisor/manager with issues concerning sanitation, safety, analytical
• concerns, and low to moderate worker relation problems.
• Responsible for filing and keeping moisture meter documents organized.
• Performs all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
• Communicates with all laboratory personnel to ensure quality and efficient service.
• Maintains customer satisfaction and appropriate confidentiality.
• Maintain a professional attitude and acceptable working relationship with coworkers,
• offering assistance when applicable.
• Responsible for sanitation in all areas to maintain a superior level of cleanliness.
• Provides routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and disposing of trash.
• Assist in other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to build new DFA moisture meter units and diagnose/repair existing units.
• Answer moisture meter email/phone calls and provide information to customers and/or route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the stock of meters by creating purchase orders and placing orders for spare parts, etc...
• Assist research personnel with the development of new moisture meter products or developing charts for new commodities.
