Middle School Latin Teacher

Saint Gregory's is seeking a Middle School (grades 5-8 ) Latin Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Saint Gregory’s School, certified by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS), is a Pre-K3 through eighth grade independent, Catholic school outside Albany, NY.

This position requires the ability to teach Introduction to Latin (grades 5 and 6) as well as Latin I (grades 7 and 8) culminating with students taking the National Latin Exam each year in March. The instructor of record must also teach Roman culture, history, and religion. The teacher will be responsible for working with students on writing, vocabulary, and analytical skills.

A Bachelor's Degree or higher, especially in Classics, and successful working experience with middle school students in a creative and high energy manner are preferred.
