    Job Description:

    We seek a highly skilled Underground Engineer to join our team at the Goldstrike operation. This role is responsible for planning, engineering, and executing small and medium-sized underground mining projects, including drill and blast operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with engineering teams and operations to develop and improve plans and procedures.
    • Streamline design processes and implement time-saving measures
    • Facilitate stope reconciliation reviews
    • Enhance autonomous drilling systems
    • Lead cost-saving initiatives
    • Monitor and improve blast performance using key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Manage the reliability of centralized blasting systems
    • Train underground operations and technical services personnel in drill and blast techniques and procedures
    • Administer quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for drilling and blasting activities
    • Assist with the selection and application of explosive products
    • Undertake other projects related to progressive underground mining


    • Bachelor's degree in Mining, Engineering, or a related field preferred
    • Previous experience supervising and directing drill and blast activities preferred
    • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in underground mining engineering required
    • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with other departments to optimize current and future mining activities
    • Excellent safety record and demonstrated safety leadership
    • Ability to obtain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF) clearance to handle explosives
    • Proficiency in mining software such as Vulcan, Deswik, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
    • Strong team leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Willingness to cross-train with the mining engineering group
