Mine Foreman supervises a staff who prepares, inspects, and works in mining projects such as underground or surface mining. Ensures the staff performs project research, design calculations, and records accuracy of mining activities. Being a Mine Foreman may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area. May require certification by the MSHA. Additionally, Mine Foreman typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mine Foreman manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.
