Being a Mortgage Closer gathers missing information as needed and acquires necessary signatures. Performs final closing calculations and coordinates the closing of loans and disbursement of loan funds. Additionally, Mortgage Closer ensures all documents are sent to appropriate departments and are in compliance with all regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Mortgage Closer works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. This is a hybrid position - you will work 3 days/week in office minimum and can work 2 days/week remote.
POSITION SUMMARY
Mortgage Loan Closer/Funder provides accurate closing documents in a timely manner that meet all regulatory and disclosure requirements. Assists processor as necessary to obtain information (i.e., loan applications, credit documents, title, appraisals, etc.) to process and complete mortgage loan files. Closer may act as a liaison between the Loan Originator and the Processor, assures lending guidelines are met and essential information is verified for underwriting to perform a prudent risk assessment. Coordinates all phases of loan closing, reviews all paperwork for accuracy, including loan disclosure process, communicates with all parties involved in the transaction timely, and ensures loan package meets compliance with legal and regulations.
