Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or other related field, or commensurate experience. Applicants will have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with a good understanding of accounting principles, an understanding of the fundamentals of credit administration, financial analysis, accounting standards and the use of various computer accounting and financial applications and computer literacy. Applicant must know basic financial statement analysis, forecasting, cash flow and collateral analysis. Applicants must be detail-oriented, and an understanding of agriculture is preferred, but not required.
Essential Functions:
Assists the Chief Credit Officer and VP Credit Officer with complex reporting. Assists relationship managers in the analysis, servicing, and reporting of the association’s mortgage and commercial loans. Works directly with lending staff in the development of appropriate credit decisions. Analyzes financial information including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow and tax returns to form an opinion of the strengths, weaknesses and risks associated with loan packages. Independently works and assesses moderately complex credits, and assists senior credit analysts with complex loan applications. Interprets, communicates, and provides guidance to relationship managers regarding association lending policies and procedures. Ensures that all assigned loans are properly risk rated, assigned loss given defaults are correct and performance status assignments are proper. Routinely interprets and acts upon legal and title questions. Complies with proper credit administration practices as outlined in the association’s policies and procedures. Frequent travel is required in this position.
