Mortgage Loan Processor performs administrative tasks for mortgage loan processing. Collects and prepares necessary information such as loan applications, credit documents, and appraisals to process and complete mortgage loan files. Being a Mortgage Loan Processor verifies all documentation for accuracy and completeness. Tracks and monitors due dates. Additionally, Mortgage Loan Processor ensures all documents are prepared and finalized in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Inputs and maintains all required transaction and processing records according to procedures. Responds to inquiries. Prepares required regulatory reporting. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Mortgage Loan Processor works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. SIU Credit Union is a strong and growing credit union doing business in Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Perry, Marion, Randolph, Saline, Massac, Union and Williamson counties in Illinois. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
You will process mortgage loan applications and prepare all documentation for loan closing while providing ongoing assistance to the mortgage loan manager. Also responsible for processing, documentation, preparation, closing and disbursal of in-house and secondary market mortgage loans.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing of mortgage loan applications which includes ordering appraisals, flood certificates, credit reports, title work, VOEs and VODs. Completing disclosures to meet RESPA guidelines.
Preparation of loan closing documents which includes Truth-in-Lending disclosures, HUD-1 settlement statements, notes, mortgage and other pertinent documents.
Identifying the needs of members and providing them information regarding how the Credit Union's products and services can meet those needs.
Posting closing entries for mortgage loans, packaging and selling loans for secondary market funding and completing files on in-house and secondary market loans.
This position serves as backup for balancing mortgage loan general ledgers/ FICS sweep.
Other duties as needed; including but not limited to, providing rates and program information to real estate agencies, assisting in paying homeowners' insurance and real estate taxes for escrow account holders, documenting homeowners' insurance coverage for each first holder with SIU Credit Union as lien holder and remaining informed and up to date on all security procedures and applicable regulations while insuring compliance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*High School Diploma and Bondability required.
*Experience with loan documents and familiarity with general ledgers preferred.
*Excellent math skills and good analytical skills.
*Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with members, staff and management.
*Typing 35 WPM and keyboard skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows based programs.
