Position Summary    

Underwrite government and conventional loans, ensuring compliance with agency, company, secondary market investor and insurer standards. 

Responsibilities

• Examine overall loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with FHA/VA standards and investor guidelines
• Review all documentation including credit reports, applications, etc., to ensure loans meet company standards for sale into secondary market
• Ensure appropriate information is obtained on each file to complete the loan package; work with loan production personnel to resolve questions or problems with loan package
• Stay abreast of changes in loan underwriting provisions
• Advise manager of any underwriting problems, and recommend corrective action to loan production personnel

Requirements

Eduction: College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Must have prior VA, FHA, and conventional loan underwriting experience for a minimum of two years

Must have FHA Chums Number designation.

Skill in: Knowledge of conventional and government underwriting procedures. Knowledge of creditor financial analysis techniques and investor requirements. High degree of attention to detail. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Compensation

• Estimated Annual Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 
• FLSA Status: Non Exempt
• Bonus Type: Year-End Discretionary
