Mortgage Underwriter jobs in Fairmont, WV

The Mortgage Loan Underwriter is responsible for ensuring effective loan service function within the department. The primary responsibilities include rendering credit decisions on incoming applications consistent with internal policies and procedures, verifying supporting documentation submitted by the Loan Originator, and reviewing all documentation for completeness and accuracy.

This position requires a direct working relationship with Loan Officers, Personal Bankers, and Mortgage Specialists. It requires attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy involving mathematical skills and the ability to multi-task when working with high volumes of loan requests in a time sensitive environment. As this position has access to the personal financial information of loan applicant’s privacy, discretion and confidence are key traits of the individual holding the position.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
• Prefer 3-5 years lending experience or related banking experience in a community bank.
• Must be registered under the SAFE Act and have a valid NMLS number.
