Join us as our Production Specialist
This position works under general direction and is primarily responsible for investigating and proposing technology solutions to optimize plant processes.
In this role you'll make an impact by:
- Championing safety, quality, compliance, efficiency, and change management in all activities.
- Completing projects, corrections, process confirmations, and safety/quality observations.
- Working in a cross-functional setting to produce and release quality products efficiently, including reformulations, rework coordination, BOM updates and optimization, and K2 flows.
- Assisting in the modification or development of SOPs.
- Supporting product reliability improvement projects.
- Conducting trials of new and alternate components.
- Using systematic problem-solving techniques to correct issues and develop improvements.
- Collaborating with operators and supervisors to troubleshoot equipment or product problems in the plant.
- Facilitating the transfer of products between sites or CMOs.
- Creating training documents and reference information for operators on new processes.
- Supporting the Capex Process (FMECA/Equipment Validations/SOP66).
- Participating in Process Management meetings or initiatives as directed.
- Tracking/reporting contamination/foreign material events and participating in RCA activities.
- Tracking/reporting scrap metrics and participating in RCA activities.
- Engaging in initiatives such as AIM, APO, Energy Management, etc.
To succeed you must hold:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read and write technical documents that are easily understood by Operators, Technicians, etc.
- Basic understanding of process flow diagrams and technical literature.
- Basic mathematical skills to analyze data and perform calculations for production.
- Basic knowledge of microbiology and product application to disposition products from test results.
- Proficient with MS Office and other basic IT systems (document control, change control, etc.).
- Basic knowledge in production systems (e.g., SAP, LIMS, etc.).
- Experience with project management, systematic problem solving, and LEAN principles.
- Demonstrated competence in a production environment.
- Data driven, detail oriented, must be able to prioritize.
- Has some experience with data historians (such as Aveva Pi, etc.) to extract and utilize data
- These characteristics may be acquired through a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, such as a microbiology, food science, or engineering, and one to three ( ) years of experience in a manufacturing environment (cGMP experience preferred).
- 21CR111 will be a required training provided by CHR Hansen.
