Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     Key Job Elements
    Minimum duties and responsibilities:
    o Design, configure, and maintain the network infrastructure using CISCO technologies and products, such as ISE, spine and leaf topology, VxLAN, SD-WAN, FTD, ASA, etc.
    o Monitor and optimize the network performance, availability, and capacity using tools such as Sumo Logic
    o Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices
    o Support the network operations for 6000 users across multiple locations and regions
    Advanced duties and responsibilities:
    o Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions
    o Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using various diagnostic tools and methods
    o Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and products to improve the network efficiency and functionality
    o Document and communicate the network architecture, design, and procedures
    Education / Training
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • CISCO certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
    Qualifications and Experience
    • 3 years of experience in network engineering or administration roles
    • CISCO certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
    Preferred Skills:
    • Proficient in CISCO technologies and products, such as ISE, spine and leaf topology, VxLAN, SD-WAN, FTD, ASA, etc.
    • Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, ISIS
    • Experience with Sumo Logic or other network monitoring and analytics tools
    • Experience with network security principles and practices
    • Experience with network design and troubleshooting methodologies
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    Essential and Physical Activities Functions:
    • Strength – (Includes weight employees may be asked to lift during a normal day. This could include office staff (ex. Box of paper) and production)
    • Motion – (Will the employee be sitting at a desk for most of the day, standing for full shift, climbing stairs, walking, squatting, kneeling, driving).
    • Vision/Hearing Requirements – (Ex. Driver would need to have the ability to read road signs and judge distances. Office workers may spend long periods of time in front of computer screens. Employees may be exposed to loud noises and machinery).
    • Work Environment- (Will the employee spend most of his/her time indoors or outdoors. If outdoors could be in snow, rain, hot vs. cold, etc. Inside – Hot vs. Cold. Also, if inside work with chemicals and/or hazardous material)
    • Emotional Demands – (Employee expected to make quick decisions, supervise workers, speak publicly, interpret data, etc.)
