Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed. Description:
Seeking a Network Engineer Consultant

Responsibilities:- Responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure
- Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and network configuration
- Supports and administers firewall environments in line with IT security policy
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
- Reports network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects
- Performs basic configuration of firewalls
- Provides remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation
- Provides remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
- Communicates with customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture
- Undertakes data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources
- Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
- Upgrades data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
- Configures routing and switching equipment
- Configures hosted IP voice services
- Performs capacity management and auditing of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers
Requirements:- 2-6 years of experience
- Recent and extensive knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 9K series switches
- Experience building switch from bare metal to most recent firmware, OS and configurations. Specific models we typically deploy are CAT 9300, 9300HX. 9500, and 9200 series
- Experience with Cisco Wi-Fi systems a plus but not required. Specifically 9166AP and 9800 series controllers
Desired skills:- Experience with Cisco DNA Center required. Experience with switch deployments utilizing Cisco DNA center
- NetBrain experience
- Experience with Meraki deployment and configurations
