Network Engineering Manager manages and implements the plans, designs, and development of all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Manager conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Manager keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. May be certified or has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Our model is to provide full integration from conception to commissioning for clients in the oil and gas industry. Our client specializes in project development, facility and pipeline design, procurement, construction management and field construction services.

    Job Summary:

    Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager with 10 years’ experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities and processes. Monday through Friday work week.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategies for expansion of the team.
    • Identify project opportunities and winning work.
    • Build and establish relationships with new and existing clients.
    • Interact and communicate effectively with direct reports, team members, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
    • Set realistic expectations and ensure assigned projects are completed according to schedule and within budget.
    • Ensure that projects assigned to direct reports and team members are completed according to schedule and within budget.
    • Adhere to and ensure that all team members are in adherence to company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval procedures.
    • Perform checking, or assign the appropriate checker, of engineering drawings and mathematical calculations produced by direct reports.
    • Responsible for ensuring the overall quality and technical accuracy associated with deliverables produced by all team members.
    • Oversee adherence to safe design practices, while focusing on identifying cost saving opportunities.
    • Plan and manage workload, budgets, and project resources, requesting assistance, as necessary.
    • Assist in and coordinate the development of internal design guidelines, specifications, and design control procedures.
    • Assess feasibility of projects by assessing materials, costs, and time requirements, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics. Utilize complex and repetitive calculations.
    • Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and/or construction schedules for projects.
    • Analyze and examine different strategies, equations, and applications to ensure appropriate procedures are applied and/or utilized. Resolve design and development issues.
    • Manage client relationships and develop repeat business opportunities.
    • Compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates, and Total Installed Cost estimates based on client provided project.

    Education & Experience:

    Basic

    • A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with a proven track record in project management and team supervision.
    • A thorough understanding of upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities and processes.
    • Excellent computer and software skills.

    Education & Experience:

    Preferred

    · Oil/Gas Facilities Engineering: 10 years (Preferred)

    · Engineering Management: 5 years (Preferred)

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This job also requires full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.

    Work Environment:

    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
