Position Overview

Search for skilled accounts payable clerk to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment among other transactions for Jefferson County

Essential Responsibilities & Functions

• Processing payroll claims submitted by the Payroll Clerk
• Processing accounts and payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures submitted by various departments
• Preparing various monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports
• Reconciling monthly end of month reports to ensure proper balance with County Treasurer
• Serves as backup to Voter Registration Clerk during elections
• Preparing end of month reports for departments to maintain their budget
• Entering appropriations and transfers into accounts payable system
• Follow all outlined office procedures as detailed
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed and assistance in other areas of the office.

Analyzing Information, Data Entry Skills, Use of Excel Spreadsheets, High degree of Accuracy and Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, General Math Skills, Financial Software, Reporting Skills, Verbal Communication, and Organization
