Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Facilities Supervisor, a typical day might include the following:
- Coordinating repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, and/or associated equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of the venue
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads
- Oversee the performance of preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, kitchen exhaust systems, kitchen refrigeration equipment and cooking equipment
- Ensuring all employees are correctly and consistently following facility maintenance practices and procedures, and reporting any issues to the Facilities team
- Ensuring facilities are in code and regulatory compliance with local agencies
- Conduct safety inspections as scheduled
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems
- Assisting as needed with new construction projects
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise 10-15 subordinate maintenance technician employees
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Skills/Qualifications
This job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet the following qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor required
- Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent required, trade school or associates degree preferred
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices
- Effective budgeting and performance management
- Fantastic organizational and leadership skills
- Great eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools
- Great time management skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
