Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Summary/Objective
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for accurately and efficiently perform high quality Nuclear Medicine exams according to physicians orders and protocols. This Clinical position requires skills and experience in nuclear medicine and applications in therapeutic nuclear medicine. The nuclear medicine Technologist must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.
Essential Job Duties

Perform nuclear medicine exams both routine and specialized safely and proficiently. Apply general ALARA concepts to maintain patient safety and possess basic anatomical and physiological knowledge to provide nuclear medicine studies.
Exhibit proficient knowledge in the technical aspects of diagnostic nuclear medicine and applications in therapeutic nuclear medicine.
Maintain knowledge of radioactive material license and Texas rules and regulations governing the utilization of radiopharmaceuticals.Must order, receive, store, handle, inject and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals appropriately and within RAM guidelines.
Must have knowledge in the utilization of nuclear medicine equipment and current software.
Complete all PACS/RIS/nuclear medicine computer data entry timely and accurately.
Maintain wipe surveys, daily and quarterly quality control, and assist physicist and inspectors in surveys as required.
Required Education and Experience
Current Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) with 1 - 2 years of experience is required.
Required License/Certifications
Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB), and Basic Life Support certification (BLS).
