Nuclear Pharmacist jobs in Maryland
Nuclear Pharmacist under the direction of a physician, compounds and dispenses radiopharmaceutical drugs to medical care providers. Responsible for procuring, compounding, dispensing, and distributing radiopharmaceuticals. Being a Nuclear Pharmacist analyzes drugs for verification of identity and strength. Must have completed a program in nuclear pharmacy. Additionally, Nuclear Pharmacist may require an advanced degree of pharmacy. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires license to practice. Nuclear Pharmacist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. I. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs imaging and dynamic function studies in order to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.
Education Successful completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Experience
Skills
* Exhibits interpersonal and verbal communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and families, who may be under physical and/or emotional stress.
* Ability to process diagnostic images through computer manipulation and technique.
Licenses
* Maryland State licensure, Accreditation by the ARRT and or NMTCB
* Maintain "Healthcare Provider" CPR course
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
* Ability to lift and position patients for up to 30% of work time and to stand and walk for up to 80% of work time.
Working Conditions
* Routine exposure to radioactive materials with little chance of injury when Regulatory Commission and
* COMAR policies are followed.
