Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a long-term care facility. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in the clinical setting by performing the following duties supporting the nursing philosophy. May include day, evening, night, weekend, holiday, and/or on-call hours.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    • Collects patient data and documents in the medical record.
    • Assists with procedures, examinations and testing as needed.
    • Reviews physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient.
    • Documents services provided in the medical record.
    • Reads and understands complex medical documentation.
    • Provides patient treatments as ordered.
    • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment
    • Administers specified medications as allowed by policy and procedure, licensure, and State Practice Act.
    • Participates in patient teaching
    • Provides basic healthcare instruction to family and patient.
    • Performs venipuncture to collect blood specimens.
    • Participates in QA & I.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

     

     

    Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.Experience in clinical setting preferred

    Certification and Licensure

     

     

    Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in state of practiceApproved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days
