Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a long-term care facility. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Ombudsman (Approx. 32 hrs.)

    Represent the Area Agency on Aging to residents in long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities, by working with or on behalf of residents to resolve complaints and concerns.

    Inform and educate residents, families, facility employees, and visitors about residents' rights, community services, laws, regulations and standards that govern long-term care facilities.

    SHIP- State Health insurance Information Program (approx. 4 hrs. )

    SMP-Senior Medicare Patrol (approx. 4 hrs.) Perform Medicare counseling and/or educate Medicare beneficiaries about Medicare fraud and abuse.

    Promote SMP/SHIP program to the public and support the SHIP coordinator.


    Required Experience:


    Bachelor's degree in Social work, Gerontology, or related field, plus one year direct experience working with the elderly and/or people with disabilities.

    Or high school graduate/equivalent plus three years of experience working for the elderly and/or people with disabilities.

    Valid Utah Driver's license and clean driving record (no more than one violation), basic computer skills.

    Active Utah SSW (Social Service Worker) license preferred.
