Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a long-term care facility. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Garfield County Nursing Home

    • 21-bed Long Term Care unit, connected to Garfield Memorial Hospital
    • Opportunities to cross train to Acute Care Nursing
    • Patient population consists of variety of illnesses and disease states
    • Older adult population, 45- older
    • Occasionally care for respite and hospice patients
    • Shift time 0530-1800, 1630-0430, 1730-0600, 1800-2100
    • 1 nurse, 3 PCTs schedule during daytime hours, 1 nurse, 2 PCTs scheduled during nighttime hours

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Current RN License in state of practice.
    • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.


    *RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date. 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

    5th Floor- Medical Oncology

    • Patient to RN ratio is 5:1 and CNA ratio is 8-12:1               
    • New Grad and RN’s with less than a year of RN experience would enter a Nurse Residency program that runs concurrent with your first year of work.

    Shift Details: Shift start times are 0500 and 1700.  This position requires availability to work a combination of day and night shift. 4 weekend shifts a month are required.  A weekend shift is considered one of the following: Friday night, Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day and Sunday night.

    Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

    Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

    Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

    Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
