Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health. Additionally, Nurse Manager - Long-Term Care may require an advanced degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience in a social or recreation program within an LTC facility.
Must have completed a training course approved by this state.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
