    Job Summary: As a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP), you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to women, addressing their unique health needs across different stages of life. You will provide primary and specialized care, focusing on preventive measures, health promotion, and disease management within the scope of women's health. Your responsibilities will encompass assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care delivery.

    Responsibilities:

    • Primary Care Services: Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and screenings, to identify women's health concerns and risk factors.
    • Reproductive Health Services: Provide family planning counseling, contraceptive management, and reproductive health screenings.
    • Gynecological Care: Perform routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams. Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions, such as menstrual disorders, menopause symptoms, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
    • Prenatal and Postnatal Care: Offer prenatal care, including prenatal exams, screenings, and education on pregnancy and childbirth. Provide postpartum care, addressing physical and emotional health needs during the postpartum period.
    • Menopausal Management: Evaluate and manage menopausal symptoms, providing hormonal therapy and alternative treatments as appropriate.
    • Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Educate patients on women's health issues, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyle choices. Promote screenings and vaccinations to prevent diseases.
    • Collaborative Care: Collaborate with physicians, obstetricians/gynecologists, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans and coordinate referrals as needed.
    • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for women's health rights and access to healthcare services. Empower patients to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
    • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
    • Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in women's health research, treatments, and technologies. Participate in continuing education activities and professional development to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) with specialization in Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) program.
    • Current certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC) from a recognized certifying body (e.g., National Certification Corporation, American Nurses Credentialing Center).
    • Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with prescriptive authority.
    • Prior experience in women's health or related clinical settings is preferred.
    • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
    • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and computerized documentation.

    Work Environment: The work environment involves direct patient care, with opportunities for collaboration with other healthcare professionals and participation in interdisciplinary team meetings. As Convenient Care Clinic services Walk-In patients, the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner may also be asked to see patients without a primary care visit scheduled as the provider’s patient load permits. Working hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, depending on the needs of the patient and in alignment of the mission of Convenient Care Clinic.
