Job Description
RN Registered Nurse Supervisor
The RN Nurse Supervisor plans, controls and executes the nursing services required by the residents. Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements, to ensure that the residents receive the highest quality of care at all times.
Together with the Nursing Director, the RN Registered Nurse Supervisor plans the operation of nursing services and the provision of emergency support requirements for tour of duty. Plans the coordination of nursing activities in line with medical needs, physician instructions and the general nursing care plan. Coordinates the activities of charge nurses to ensure proper care of residents. In conjunction with medical staff, adjusts the care plan to meet emergency medical needs.
In the absence of superiors, the RN Registered Nurse Supervisor assumes total responsibility for operating decisions required by the circumstances of the moment. Takes responsibility for management of emergency situations as the need develops. Ensures presence of appropriate relief staff to assume responsibility prior to leaving the facility. Ensures notification of resident’s personal physician if there is a significant change in the condition of the resident or if the resident requires immediate medical care.
Qualifications:
· The RN Registered Nurse Supervisor must hold a current state Rhode Island RN license and be a Registered Nurse in good standing.
· Must have previous experience in a supervisory capacity.
· Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
· The RN Registered Nurse Supervisor demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.
· Must be knowledgeable of general rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse Rhode Island (RN) license.
- Experience in medication administration, IV insertion, and ventilator management.
- Knowledge of family planning, infant care, and medical imaging.
- Ability to work in diverse healthcare settings including nursing homes and home care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate and quality patient care.
This is a Temp position with no benefits. Anticipated contract through the Summer.
