Job Overview: As an Operating Room Registered Nurse at Tullahoma Surgery Center, you will be an integral part of our surgical team. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgical procedures, collaborating with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Assistance: Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, assisting surgeons and scrub personnel, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs, comfort, and safety throughout their surgical experience.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and anesthesia as prescribed, monitoring patient responses.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to any intraoperative emergencies, ensuring the immediate availability of necessary supplies and support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including surgical counts and documentation of intraoperative events.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to minimize the risk of surgical site infections.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and safe surgical operations.

Required Skills:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in TN.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines.
