Nurse Practitioner - Surgical jobs in Indiana
Nurse Practitioner - Surgical works in collaboration with hospital physicians to manage care for patients in a surgical setting. Provides direct care and follow-up for patients in surgical care units. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Surgical orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Surgical requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Orthopedic Hospital, part of the Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne, IN, has an opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to provide pre-surgical evaluations for Orthopedic surgeries. The ideal candidate has experience in primary care, ICU or ED, but new grads are welcome to apply!
The Orthopedic Hospital is a 37 bed inpatient/outpatient hospital designed specifically to treat orthopedic patients. Our commitment to patients includes collaboration with the highest quality orthopedic surgeons and teams to provide extensive treatment options and solutions.

Responsibilities include:
- Perform H&P assessment for pre-surgical patients
- Evaluate pre-op testing and obtain specialty surgical clearance as needed
- Provide pre-op instructions
- Collaborate/consult with orthopedic surgeons as needed
- Monday - Friday schedule
- Call to cover inpatient hospitalist service only every 5 to 6 weeks
