Position: Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Practice Nurse)
Reports to: Medical Director (as assigned)
Summary: Urgent Care Physicians of New Jersey LLC provides urgent care in the State of New Jersey. Our Immediate Care company office is in Red Bank. We are seeking nurse practitioners for our seven (7) urgent care centers situated in Monmouth, Ocean, Mercer and Middlesex counties. Prior urgent care or walk-in center experience a plus, but not required. One (1) year experience in family medicine in a clinical setting is preferred. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations and the counseling of patients towards compliance with treatment.
• Order diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, and interpret results accordingly.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as incision and drainage, splinting, suturing, infection management and wound care.
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and, moreover, deliver continuity of care (including referral of patients to specialists and to other relevant patient care components, as medically necessary and appropriate).
• Regularly communicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information.
Requirements
• License (unrestricted and in good standing) as a registered professional nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• Certified by the New Jersey, Board of Nursing as an advanced practice nurse.
• Controlled dangerous substance registration with the State of New Jersey.
• Registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice.
