Provides care to women from adolescence through menopause, with a focus on reproduction and gynecology. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health assesses patient condition and may provide treatment using specialized medical equipment. The Center for Innovative GYN Care (CIGC) is a progressive, minimally invasive GYN surgical practice that requires the services of an experienced, full time Nurse Practioner in Rockville, MD. The physicians at CIGC consult with patients locally and from all over the US and world for the performance of hysterectomy, myomectomy, endometriosis, and GYN malignancy. Through the use of advanced techniques, all procedures are performed in the state of the art Innovations Surgery Center located on the ground floor of CIGC offices. CIGC publishes its data in peer reviewed journals and focuses on Value Based Care in its performance of surgery and patient management to achieve the best possible care at the lowest possible cost.
The Nurse Practitioner for this position must understand office GYN care for common conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic masses, cervical dysplasia, and pelvic pain. Office patients will be scheduled for the NP, who will be involved in seeing patients for routine GYN care as well as identifying those patients that would benefit from medical and surgical management. Training will be provided to understand the minimally invasive surgical benefits for GYN conditions, as well as preoperative and postoperative management.
There is an opportunity for the NP to work in the OR as well and to function as an assistant to the surgeons. This is a practice of MIS Surgeons and GYN oncologists. CIGC does not perform Obstetrics care.

This position at CIGC is dynamic and provides the NP with autonomy, and to learn the complete management for GYN conditions from MIS surgeons and GYN Oncologists. This is an excellent opportunity for the NP to learn how to diagnose and treat complex GYN conditions, and how minimally invasive surgery can benefit patients when performed using advanced surgical techniques in the outpatient free standing ASC setting.
As more surgical management in Gynecology is moving in that direction, the NP in this position will be at the forefront of Value Based Care for the management of endometriosis, fibroids, and GYN malignancy.
