Obstetrics/Gynecology Director jobs in Amarillo, TX
Obstetrics/Gynecology Director directs the staff and programs of the obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) department. Develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for OB/GYN services and programs. Being an Obstetrics/Gynecology Director ensures quality care for patients. Requires a MD degree. Additionally, Obstetrics/Gynecology Director typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Obstetrics/Gynecology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Obstetrics/Gynecology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Works with Audit Services/Compliance on all research related audits including responses to findings. Assists with the development and maintenance of the Unit annual budget and supporting funds. Manages daily/regular activities of the Unit to include purchasing, maintenance and processing of documentation, administrative support to the Executive Director, adherence to operating policies, etc. Responsible for the organization and development of the Annual Research Day activities, posters, abstracts, awards, etc.Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
