    Responsibilities

    The Director of Nursing for the Department of Emergency and Transport provides leadership, direction and administration for the Emergency Room and Emergency Transportation. The Director provides guidance in the areas of compliance, safety, quality and nursing practice. The Director will oversee staff retention, education and competency and support the professional development of the staff.

    The Director, Department of Emergency and Transport will develop and maintain a departmental budget, achieve high patient experience scores and act as a liaison and facilitator between the Emergency Room and other clinical areas of the hospital. The Director will be looked to create and support a culture of nursing and service excellence for the Emergency Room and Emergency Transportation.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's of Nursing and over 5 to 7 years of ER nursing experience required.
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of nursing management experience required.
    • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing or similar field of study preferred.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Registered Nurse in PA – licensed required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
    • ACLS required.
    • Nursing administration certification or CEN preferred.
    • EMS certification (EMT or Paramedic) preferred.
