Occupational Therapist - Home Care plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs in a home care environment to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities. Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities. Being an Occupational Therapist - Home Care studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Occupational Therapist - Home Care typically reports to a manager. Requires certification as an occupational therapist. Occupational Therapist - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Job Description
As a home health occupational therapist, you'll help individuals with the skills needed for life's daily activities. Working in patients' homes, nursing homes or memory care, you'll review their medical histories, develop and implement occupational therapy treatment plans, recommend and provide equipment, monitor patient progress and more. You'll play a critical role in helping patients who are ill, injured or disabled regain quality of life.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience as an occupational therapist in a home health setting
- Degree in relevant field
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current state license
