    Summary:

    Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a Simulation Software Programmer to provide experimentation support to the Fires Battle Lab (FBL) in performing Army and Joint directed experimentation, demonstrations, analysis and supporting Institutional training. This work supports the Department of Defense (DOD), Army Futures Command (AFC) and Futures and Concepts Center (FCC) directed current and future force concept and live prototype assessments experiments, new technology demonstrations, and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA) events to gain insights to emerging and evolving concepts, technology and materiel initiatives to provide informed, recommended changes to Doctrine, Organizations, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). Key to success in this effort is the continued assessment and development of Future Fires capabilities, which includes, but is not limited to, directed energy (high energy laser, high power microwaves, etc.), plasma and electrodynamic kinetic energy weapons’ (i.e., railgun, electro-thermal gun, etc.) technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny, or disrupt a threat's capability.

     

    Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop experimentation road-to-war plans and Fires scenarios, synchronizing of AFC/FCC Integrated Learning Plan objectives, learning demands, and essential elements of analysis (EEAs).
    • Conduct focused exploration and experimentation to aid in the production of quantitative and qualitative support for concepts, requirements validation, and recommended DOTMLPF-P solutions.
    • Plan, perform, analyze and report results of directed experiments to support the development and refinement of concepts, capability requirements and capability solutions.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to Joint, Interagency, Multinational and Service experiments with Army involvement.
    • Design, develop, synchronize and execute experimentation plans.
    • Identify promising Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies for the future of Fires such as, but not limited to, artificial intelligence, robotics and autonomous platforms, protection and survivability, power management and distribution, human performance improvement, quantum technology, radio frequency electronic materials, additive manufacturing, nanotechnology, improved munitions, offensive and defensive hypersonics, counter – unmanned aviation systems, directed energy (high energy laser, high thermal gun, etc.), plasma and electrodynamic kinetic energy weapons (i.e., railgun, electrothermal gun, etc.), railgun weapons technology, next generation radars and sensors, soldier and platform based precision sensors, next generation fires command and control, diverse, disruptive effects for artillery, long range precision fires, air and missile defense, and technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny or disrupt a threat’s capability through experimentation and demonstration events.
    Job Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    • Possess experience with Agile software coding practices for code development and testing purposes especially within the realm of military simulations (scenarios, force structures, fire systems, sensor systems, munitions, etc.).
    • Experience using software testing and configuration management practices.
    • Demonstrated experience applying advanced programing techniques to include, but not limited to, object-oriented design, advanced data structures and file structures, numerical algorithms, and data search and retrieval techniques.
    • Demonstrated experience integrating simulations into distributed simulation environments, especially within Distributed Interactive Simulations (DIS) architectures and High-Level Architecture (HLA) environments working with Federation Object Models (FOMs).
    • Have demonstrated experience programming with object-oriented usage of C and C Programming Languages and demonstrated experience in usage of Linux Operating Systems.
    • Demonstrated experience with programming large software applications, especially within stochastic, event driven, entity-based simulations such as FireSim XXL.
