Responsibilities
- Candidates must be located in Washington or Oregon, but will travel locally within the Puget Sound area.**
This position is responsible for supporting key aspects of benchmarking and productivity management for the CommonSpirit Health (CSH) system. Primary focus is on achieving system standardization, ensuring labor data integrity including driving optimizion and use of multiple labor solutions, large amounts of data and operational methods at the hospital level. This position works closely with system and local leadership on a frequent basis. The Analyst is required to establish and maintain extensive knowledge of each assigned facility’s labor operations practices and performance. This position reports to a system office Labor Manager as part of the Operations Performance Group (OPG) and works within a heavily matrixed organization, where effective remote relationship and collaboration establishment is critical.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Provides market evaluation and key analyses to support operational improvement and other performance management efforts involving labor productivity, benchmarking, decision-support information deployment and routine performance monitoring.
- Supports labor system data integrity initiatives focused on enhancing the quality of all labor productivity reporting for entire system.
- Under OPG management direction, collaborates with market Finance, Accounting and Decision Support teams regarding the labor budget process and assists in the development of productivity targets.
- Assists OPG leaders with the implementation of the Premier productivity and benchmarking system. Provides ongoing system support including leader education and training to achieve optimal system use.
- Ensures timely and accurate benchmarking audits, labor data submission, report generation and hospital leader education regarding labor report interpretation and recommended use.
- Supports efforts increasing operational effectiveness and cost containment by driving improvement opportunities identified for assigned facilities as a result of routine labor analyses and performance trending conducted by OPG management.
- Supports increased system-wide productivity and benchmarking practice standardization by supporing OPG’s efforts to identify lowest cost performers and establishing best practices throughout the system.
- Maintains a work portfolio containing shared system accountabilities with OPG peers and tasks that demand independent accountability.
- Performs other tasks ah-hoc and otherwise at the request of OPG Management. Supports and cross-trains on peer-level analytics to support the advancement of OPG overall performance objectives.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Engineering, or equivalent required.
- Five (5) years of experience in a self-directed environment requiring high levels of communication required.
- Two (2) years of Healthcare operations experience preferred. Finance or accounting experience highly desirable.
- Productivity and comparative benchmarking experience required.
- Product specific experience (Premier OperationsAdvisor) highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in developing tools that others can use to help manage data and make decisions.
- Requires creative use of excel formulas and functions, as well as an understanding of users’ needs and challenges.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Training

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

- Ability to work, calculate and interpret practical mathematics such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions and have working knowledge of statistical analytics and concepts.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and the Internet.
- Must demonstrate excellent time management and interpersonal skills working with people from various groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
Pay Range
$35.28 - $51.16 /hour
