Optometrist provides primary care and medical treatment to patients with visual system disorders and diseases. Examines patients' eyes to detect and diagnose vision problems, diseases, and other conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension. Being an Optometrist develops treatment plans and prescribes eyeglasses, contact lenses, and/or medication to treat eye disorders. Educates patients on proper eye care and treatment plans. Additionally, Optometrist requires a doctorate degree. Requires Licensed Optician. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a manager. Description
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Doctor of Optometry join our Oconto clinical team!
The purpose of an Optometrist is to examine the eyes to detect defects in vision, signs of injury, ocular diseases or abnormality or other general problems such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Optometrists perform a comprehensive eye exam, they assess an individual's vision and provide prescriptions for glasses and contacts; diagnose, treat, and manage eye injuries; detect disease in the eye; and provide services to rehabilitate some eye conditions through low vision rehabilitation and vision therapy.
