Order Clerk, Sr. receives and processes orders for materials and merchandise. Utilizes order tracking and CRM systems to process orders, record prices, delivery dates, inventory status, maintain customer information and other data related to each transaction. Being an Order Clerk, Sr. confirms orders, updates shipping status, and notifies customers of any backorder or delivery delays. Researches and resolves order errors and updates the system. Additionally, Order Clerk, Sr. may prepare packing lists or other order-related documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Order Clerk, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Under general supervision perform clerical work requiring application of various work methods, procedures, policies, practices and departmental functions related to the processing of documents and files. Career Progression is available from Levels I through IV. For new hire initial placement, this position is historically filled at a Level I. In some cases, an applicant's knowledge, skills, abilities, and education may qualify him/her for consideration to start at a higher level at the discretion of the Clerk & Comptroller.
