    Veterinary Development Specialist

    This role is remote. Must live within region to be aligned with the region time zone or be willing to relocate to the Sales Region

    The Veterinary Development Specialist is a quota-carrying role that leads the strategic development of account management and drives growth and share of wallet shift for in-clinic, technology, and specialty products in the virtual sales space.

    This position is responsible for identifying and addressing customer needs, pain points, and opportunities to optimize and improve the adoption of existing products, as well as selling singular point solutions when opportunities are identified.

    The Senior Veterinary Development Specialist also closely partners with Account Executives to identify VetSuite opportunities and drive further growth within the virtual sales segment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

    • Serves as the key sales contact for acquiring and opportunistic accounts with a focus on strategic growth and long-term customer relationships to meet company financial targets.
    • Leads and supports the virtual sales team in achieving and exceeding revenue and gross profit goals through customer relationship nurturing.
    • Leverages internal content and expertise to drive virtual engagement activities, including webinars, and optimization initiatives that support revenue growth and adoption.
    • Identifies and addresses customer needs, pain points, and opportunities to proactively generate potential VetSuite opportunities and drive further growth and adoption within the virtual sales segment.
    • Collaborates closely with Account Executives to assess, communicate, and pursue VetSuite leads to maximize growth potential and customer value;

    communicates VetSuite leads to AE via SFDC.

    • Acts as a primary customer liaison for the implementation and onboarding processes, ensuring seamless transitions and a positive customer experience.
    • Analyzes internal reports to optimize customer utilization, identify growth opportunities, and guide virtual sales team efforts.
    • Manages and maintains critical data and customer updates within SFDC to effectively track and support the sales process and customer relationships.
    • Performs additional duties and tasks as necessary to support the team and company objectives.

    Performance Measures :

    • Revenue
    • Incremental gross profit
    • Gross profit growth
    • Net gross profit / revenue retention

    Experience Requirements :

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Communications, or a related field is required, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in virtual sales, account management, or similar roles within the veterinary or healthcare industry.
    • Previous experience in a similar virtual account management role is preferred

    Skill Requirements :

    • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization and effectively pull through business.
    • Ability to understand, translate & respond to customer needs / objectives with differentiated offers & solutions that Covetrus can deliver.
    • Can pivot and adapt in fast-moving, agile environments. Capable of dealing with business conflict
    • Ability to partner closely with staff across departments to implement growth strategies.
    • An understanding of CRM tools functionality and practical experience used to support the management of an account's go-to-market operations.

    Work Environment :

    • This role is remote. Must live within or be willing to relocate to the Sales Region.
    • Travel, up to 5%, is required in this role and will be based on company events.
    • Must be able to travel to national sales meetings annually as well as all relevant sales zone / regional meetings.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    Previous experience in the veterinary or healthcare industr y is desirable.
