Ensures quality care and services for patients by implementing systems and operational procedures to coordinate service delivery. Being an Outpatient Services Director aligns processes with business, clinical, customer service, quality, and financial goals. Monitors, evaluates, and modifies programs while adhering to company guidelines and standards. Additionally, Outpatient Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Outpatient Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Outpatient Services Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     We are excited to announce an opening for the Assistant Director of Outpatient Services at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital (HBH). The Assistant Director of Outpatient Services assist the Director of Outpatient Services provide the leadership and strategic planning of the outpatient program offered at the facility; ensuring the program meet the needs of the community and the facility’s performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the overall administrative processes and management systems for psychiatric and substance use disorder services offered at the facility, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of clinical treatment programs.


    • Represent the Outpatient Services Department at the executive level and in consultation with the Medical Director, plan, develop and implement formal and organized clinical services programs as part of the therapeutic environment.
    • Assist with the development and organization of programs for clinical services based on specialized patient populations.
    • Maintain an awareness of community and market-related activities which includes knowledge of the activities of other providers, needs of local payers and the political climate related to mental health and substance use disorder.
    • Provide a broad vision in the development of programs and the evaluation of current services offered.
    • Strategically solve problems that encompass the larger view of the organization, and establish goals by utilizing an understanding of organizational dynamics in planning and problem solving.
    • Remain current on all clinical techniques, and provide direction to staff and facility personnel.
    • Participate in developing, justifying and controlling the annual budget for department personnel, facilities and equipment.
    • Ensure strategic program goals and objectives are consistent with overall facility goals and objectives.

    What we’re looking for:


    • Education & Licensure:
      Master’s degree or work towards a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field preferred. An RN, social work, or counseling license in the State of Washington is required.
    • Experience: : Minimum of five (3) years’ experience in psychiatric/mental health field/chemical dependency, with a minimum of three (2) years’ experience in advanced clinical/management practice
    • Additional Skill Requirements: Completed training of crisis management/prevention techniques.
