Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary
The Finish Product Packaging Operator works under the direction of the shift supervisor and group leader. Responsible for preparing bulk blends according to blending instructions provided by the Blender/Product Mgmt. department. The incumbent performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. The operator is responsible for drum and package filling. The operator may be assigned to any shift and may cross-train with other plant operator positions. In the absence of this position, other Packaging Operators will provide backup.

The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is a must. 100% standing, climbing ladders and stairs in a normal manufacturing environment. Ability to stand for the duration of the shift. Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.
